Iron Maiden have no concerts planned in Europe for 2027. After the Run for Your Lives World Tour, which celebrated the band's 50th anniversary in 2025 and 2026, Iron Maiden are set to take a break from touring until at least 2028. As of 6 October 2026 there is no tour, festival appearance or one-off show announced for 2027 anywhere, in continental Europe, Ireland or elsewhere.
The band's most recent European concerts came in June and July 2026, on the second European leg of the anniversary tour: Hanover, Rock im Park, Rock am Ring, the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, San Siro in Milan, Hellfest, Paris La Défense Arena, the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, Antwerp, Viveiro, Cartagena and, on 7 July 2026, the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon. A 50th-anniversary event, EddFest, followed on 11 July 2026.
This page explains the touring break and gives a full account of Iron Maiden's history in continental Europe and Ireland, from the Groenoordhallen in Leiden in 1980 and the first shows behind the Iron Curtain in 1984 to the stadium nights of 2025 and 2026.
There will be no Iron Maiden tour in 2027. After EddFest on 11 July 2026 and further shows outside Europe later in 2026, Iron Maiden are set to take a break from touring until at least 2028. No date for a return has been given.
The Run for Your Lives World Tour was the band's 26th world tour. It began in May 2025 and focused on songs from the first nine studio albums, from Iron Maiden (1980) to Fear of the Dark (1992). More than a million tickets were sold for the first 32 shows of the 2025 European leg, and the tour was extended into 2026 with a second European leg.
It was also the band's first tour without Nicko McBrain behind the kit. McBrain retired from touring after the final show of The Future Past World Tour in São Paulo in December 2024, while remaining a member of the band for studio work, and Simon Dawson of British Lion took over as touring drummer.
Because no 2027 concerts exist, any 2027 Iron Maiden ticket, tour poster or 'presale code' you see is not genuine. Sign up for the alert on this page if you want to be told when the band announces its next European dates.
Iron Maiden's European history begins in 1980, the year of their first album. Tour listings include Kortrijk in Belgium in April, Italian dates in Rome, Perugia, Genoa and Milan in late August, French shows in Avignon, Lyon, Lille and Paris in September, and the Groenoordhallen in Leiden on 5 October 1980. The Killers tour of 1981 played two nights at Le Bataclan in Paris on 21 and 22 March, a long run through France and Italy, Leiden and Nijmegen, and an open-air date at the Roman Theatre of Orange on 1 September 1981.
The World Slavery Tour began in August 1984 with five shows in Poland, in Warsaw, Łódź, Poznań, Wrocław and Zabrze, followed by Budapest on 17 August. Iron Maiden were the first Western artists to bring a full-scale production behind the Iron Curtain, and the band's video Behind the Iron Curtain documented it. The same tour went on to Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia. In the late 1980s and early 1990s the band played the Koning Willem II Stadion in Tilburg in 1988, the Point Theatre in Dublin in 1990 and 1993, Leiden, Forest National and the Brabanthallen in 's-Hertogenbosch.
With Blaze Bayley as singer, The X Factour played a long Italian run in November 1995 and January 1996, from Modena, Rome and Milan to Bolzano, Acireale, Naples and Perugia. Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith returned in 1999, and the Ed Hunter tour played Paris-Bercy on 9 September 1999, the Ahoy in Rotterdam, the Forum near Milan, Badalona and Leganés. The Brave New World tour of 2000 played the Goffertpark in Nijmegen, Monza, Paris-Bercy on 14 June, Dessel, Vilar de Mouros in Portugal, San Sebastián, the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid on 19 July and Barcelona.
The 2000s brought bigger summer shows. The band returned to Las Ventas on 12 June 2003 and played Imola, Paris-Bercy and Dessel that summer, then toured Dance of Death through arenas in autumn 2003. In 2005 they played Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, the Parc des Princes in Paris on 25 June and the RDS Arena in Dublin on 31 August. In 2007 they played the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 20 June, and the Somewhere Back in Time tour of 2008, the first with 'Ed Force One', a Boeing 757 converted to carry the band, crew and stage production, played two nights at Paris-Bercy on 1 and 2 July, Lisbon, Wacken and the TT Circuit in Assen.
The Final Frontier tour played the O2 in Dublin on 30 July 2010, Wacken, Villa Manin and Kiewit that summer, and German arenas, two nights at Paris-Bercy and Rock Werchter in 2011. The Maiden England tour of 2013 and 2014 played the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Paris-Bercy, two nights at the Festhalle in Frankfurt, the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Hellfest and the Citadelle d'Arras. The Book of Souls tour visited the Olympiastadion in Munich and the Waldbühne in Berlin in May 2016, Spain, Portugal and Italy in July, including the Piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste, Wacken in August, and arenas in 2017, including the 3Arena in Dublin on 6 May 2017.
The Legacy of the Beast tour played the Königsplatz in Munich on 9 June 2018, Hellfest, two nights at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris and the Metropolitano in Madrid, and, after the pandemic, stadiums in Cologne, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Barcelona in 2022. The Future Past tour opened in Ljubljana in May 2023 and played Hellfest, the 3Arena in Dublin on 24 June, the Ziggo Dome, Antwerp, Milan, Barcelona, Murcia, Barakaldo, Dortmund, Frankfurt, two nights in Munich and Wacken. The 2025 anniversary leg began in Budapest on 27 May and ran to Warsaw on 2 August, with two nights at Paris La Défense Arena, two at the Waldbühne and a show at Malahide Castle near Dublin on 25 June 2025.
The table below lists 562 documented European concerts by Iron Maiden between 1980 and 2026, with the most shows in Paris (21), Helsinki (15), Madrid (14), Stockholm (14), Milan (13), Lisbon (12). It is not exhaustive: it only includes documented shows.

Iron Maiden are one of the defining headliners of Europe's metal festivals. They have played Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium, at least ten times since 2000, most recently on 19 June 2025, and Wikipedia notes that they headlined the 2018 edition alongside Guns N' Roses and Marilyn Manson. They have played Wacken Open Air in Germany in 2008, 2010, 2016 and 2023, and Hellfest in Clisson in 2014, 2018, 2023 and 2026.
The band has also played the twin German festivals Rock am Ring at the Nürburgring and Rock im Park in Nuremberg in 2005, 2014 and 2026, Rock Werchter in 2011, Pukkelpop's site at Kiewit in 2010 and the Download festival's Paris edition in 2016.
Iron Maiden were formed in Leyton, east London, in 1975 by bassist and main songwriter Steve Harris. As leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal, they released Iron Maiden (1980) and Killers (1981) with singer Paul Di'Anno, then replaced him with Bruce Dickinson for The Number of the Beast (1982), their first UK No. 1 and one of the most popular heavy metal albums ever, with sales of almost 20 million copies.
Nicko McBrain replaced Clive Burr on drums in December 1982. Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (a UK No. 1 in 1988) followed, and Fear of the Dark also reached No. 1 in 1992. After a turbulent 1990s, Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith returned in 1999, and the six-piece line-up with Dave Murray and Janick Gers has been the band's core ever since.
The later albums have been among their most successful: The Final Frontier (2010), The Book of Souls (2015) and Senjutsu (2021) each reached No. 1 in more than 25 countries. Iron Maiden have sold more than 130 million albums and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2026.
In July 2026 the band announced a partnership with Pophouse Entertainment covering its catalogue, image and the character of Eddie, the mascot who has appeared on almost every Iron Maiden cover for more than 40 years; the agreement includes a theatrical concert film and a museum.

Iron Maiden's announced pause is unusual for a band that has toured regularly since 1980. One earlier break came after the Rock in Rio show of January 2001, when the band took a year off from touring apart from three benefit shows in London for former drummer Clive Burr.
The break follows the 50th-anniversary celebrations and the change of touring drummer. The band has not said what will follow it, and there is no announced album, tour or festival appearance for 2028 either. This page will be updated if that changes.
In August 1984 Iron Maiden opened the World Slavery Tour with five concerts in Poland, at the Hala Torwar in Warsaw, Łódź, Poznań, Wrocław and Zabrze, followed by Budapest. It was the first time a Western band had taken a full-scale stage production into the Eastern Bloc.
The connection with Central Europe has lasted: the 2025 anniversary leg opened with two nights at the László Papp Budapest Sports Arena on 27 and 28 May and ended at the PGE Narodowy in Warsaw on 2 August 2025.
Paris has been one of the band's great European strongholds. After two nights at Le Bataclan in March 1981, Iron Maiden made the arena at Bercy their Paris home, playing there in 1999, 2000, 2003 (twice), 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2013, with two nights in both 2008 and 2011, and as the AccorHotels Arena on 5 and 6 July 2018.
Since 2022 the band has played Paris La Défense Arena instead: on 26 June 2022, on 19 and 20 July 2025 and on 22 June 2026.
Spain has given Iron Maiden some of their most distinctive venues, including the Plaza de Toros de Albacete in 1998 and the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid on 19 July 2000 and 12 June 2003.
The scale has grown since: the Metropolitano in Madrid on 14 July 2018 and again on 5 July 2025, the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona on 29 July 2022, and summer shows in Viveiro in Galicia in 2016 and 2026 and Cartagena in 2026.
Ireland has seen Iron Maiden at the Point Theatre in 1990, 1993, 2003 and 2006, the SFX Hall in 1996, the RDS Arena in 2005, the O2 in 2010 and the 3Arena in 2017 and 2023.
The most recent Irish show was outdoors, in the grounds of Malahide Castle north of Dublin on 25 June 2025, on the first European leg of the anniversary tour.
The Run for Your Lives set was a fixed 17-song show drawn entirely from the first nine albums. At the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon on 7 July 2026 it opened with 'Murders in the Rue Morgue', 'Wrathchild', 'Killers' and 'Phantom of the Opera', continued with 'The Number of the Beast', 'Infinite Dreams', 'Powerslave', '2 Minutes to Midnight' and the full 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner', then 'Run to the Hills', 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son', 'The Trooper', 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' and 'Iron Maiden', with 'Aces High', 'Fear of the Dark' and 'Wasted Years' as the encore.
The 2025 shows were almost identical; the main change in 2026 was 'Infinite Dreams' in place of 'The Clairvoyant', which had been played throughout the 2025 European leg.
The Future Past tour of 2023 had been built around Somewhere in Time and Senjutsu: at Wacken on 4 August 2023 the band opened with 'Caught Somewhere in Time' and played 'Stranger in a Strange Land', 'The Writing on the Wall', 'Days of Future Past', 'Alexander the Great' and 'Hell on Earth'.
There are no Iron Maiden tickets for Europe in 2027, because the band is not touring. Any site selling 2027 seats or offering a 'presale code' is not official.
When Iron Maiden tour, tickets usually go on sale through a fan club presale and then a general sale run by each country's promoter or festival. Buy only through the links in the band's announcement or on the venue's or festival's own website, and use the official resale platform of the country concerned if you need to resell.
